In reading this week, we will continue working on Summarizing. We will use different strategies to practice summarizing fiction and non-fiction passages.
In writing this week, we will continue focusing on complete sentences. We will also be sending home a note on Tuesday about the Famous Missourian Wax Museum project. This is a very fun and exciting 4th grade project! Please read the note and look at the list of famous Missourians with your child to help them choose their top 3 choices to research. Top 3 choices due signed and returned by Thursday, March 2.
In science this week, we will finish up our unit on Renewable and Nonrenewable resources with a test on Wednesday. We will use Tuesday to review and prepare for the test. Students will only be able to use their packet notes for 10 minutes during the test this time. We will then begin a Social Studies unit on Becoming a State.
In math this week, we will finish up our unit on decimals with a unit test on Thursday. On this test, students will need to be able to compare and order decimals, find equivalencies of decimals and fractions, and add decimals, There will be a review sent home that will help them to prepare for the test.
In spelling this week, our rule focuses on consonant blends, "thr, scr, str, and squ." We will have cursive practice this week and a test on Friday.
